If you’ve purchased a new car in the last few years, you’ve noticed that the act of turning a key has become antiquated. To get the engine revving, a simply pushing a button or being present in the car will suffice. The same thing is happening with keys to your home. Imagine being able to let your kids into the house after school from your office desk. Or walking up to your door and simply touching the handle to open it. All without a key. Here comes Schlage to the rescue. The old-school stalwart refuses to be left behind in the battle for keyless entry. It recently introduced a full line of products called Schlage Connect. For $159, it locks and unlocks doors in three ways: Z-Wave home automation technology (remote control), touch keypad, and the old school key.
